21 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME

I thought this would be a fun way to get to know me better!

Right let’s begin!

• My full name is Adesola (I am Yoruba Nigerian!), but I go by Desola. Hugeee difference I know!
• XDESFAN means “xoxo, Desola Faniyi”. Like “xoxo, Gossip Girl”. When I was 9, I came up with the name ‘DesFan’ for my clothing line, but then when I started my blog I wanted to switch it up, and so I added in a subtle ‘X’ – to mimic the Gossip Girl sign off! Also because I thought it looked cute
• I am an introvert!
• I have only been to France, America and Nigeria in my entire life. You would think I love the UK *heavy yikes*
• When I was little I wanted to become a Fashion Designer. All I did in my spare time was design clothes and create concepts. I handmade my dolls outfits with random materials I found in my home, my Mother bought me my first sewing machine when I was around 11, and I first started creating clothes at 12!
• My favourite movies include the Bridget Jones Diary (all of them), Clueless, Pitch Perfect, Wild Child, and … Shrek
• I have a scar on my forehead from recklessly diving off the bed when I was a small child (making me a certified rebel)
• I call myself a fake vegan because I still consume eggs. I started my journey five years ago by cutting out all the meats, then chicken, then milk, then fish, all that is left is egg!
• I am entering my final undergraduate year of Law and Philosophy. I still desperately wonder what on Earth my 17 year old self was thinking in choosing LAW over Fashion, but everything happens for a reason 🙂
• My favourite artist of all time is Lana Del Rey. However, my overall music taste is extremely wide. From Prince, to TWICE and Red Velvet – I really have over 20 playlists (my end of year ‘Spotify Wrapped’ is quite chaotic)
• Capricorn is my star sign

• I have three ear piercings. I love the look of a fully blinged out ear, so I’m thinking to get more! There’s truly something exhilarating about getting your ears stabbed with pretty new jewels
• I can’t whistle to save my life
• Sometimes I wish I was a teenager in the 80s. In my eyes, the fashion and music then was simple and elite.
• My favourite flowers are red and white roses
• My comfort TV programmes are The Office, Rick and Morty, and the Simpsons
• I have quite an addictive personality when it comes to food. At one point I was eating rice cakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Then it became macaroons. At the moment however, it is all about guacamole and tortilla chips
• I don’t enjoy taking elevators. One time I refused to take an elevator I found a bit dodgy, and subsequently had to quickly climb over 20 flights of stairs… I nearly passed out
• I am not a fan of fizzy drinks. I find the texture quite abrasive and violent. If I have to drink it, it can only be flat (not me purposely making fizzy bottled drinks go flat and pissing everyone off – total rebel)
• I studied English Literature, Media Studies and Business for A Level. I attended a small co-ed sixth form, and it served to be quite a contrast from my Catholic all girls high school
• My favourite thing to whip up in the kitchen … is a fat and hot bowl of ramen. Sorry – were you expecting something impressive? Okay well I DO spice it up with tofu and spinach. No? Still not chef worthy? Okay I promise to do better
• I started this blog last year when I was 19!
