Simple and bold – eyeliner is one of the best ways to elevate your visuals. It’s extremely versatile, coming in a number of different formulations, colours, and finishes. Liners allow you to get free and creative – creating a ton of different designs and shapes on your lids. In this post, I opted for the classic wing, but made it thick and dramatic; it was the focal point for the whole face, as I kept a light base with simple lined and glossy lips.

As mentioned above, I chose to create a fresh ‘glowy’ base, with the liner heavily contrasting. I added a little extra highlight underneath my eyes, as well as using pearly white eyeshadow as the base for my eyes to make it more brighter and provide a nice transition into the rest of my face. I found that this also created a nice canvas for me to draw on the liner, and the colours also showed up brighter and more visibly.
The eyeliner started from the inner corners and travelled all the way towards my temples. I used three colours to add to the thickness of it, and also because I thought they looked nice stacked against each other – with the black liner acting as a barrier to separate the pink and purple. This look contains three different forms of eyeliner. Whilst they can be used independently for a much more simplified look, the images here show how they can compliment each other, and demonstrate how creative you can be combining different liners.
- First pink liner – eyeshadow, achieved with a thin angled brush
- Second black liner – liquid eyeliner that dries matte
- Third purple liner – creamy pencil eyeliner creating a shimmery finish

The third eyeliner started from my bottom lid, and joined up underneath the other liners. Not only did it make my eyes pop nicer and provide a lovely glimmer, but it also helped clean up the lines. Thanks to this, the highlight on my cheek bones became a little more noticeable – contributing to the overall glow in the face. I’d say this component is my favourite part as without it, the eyeliner look would be a little too matte and I was not intentionally trying to achieve that.

As I am not a huge fan of false eyelashes, I stuck to mascara. In my past experience, I found that when creating elaborate eyeshadow/eyeliner looks, and then using falsies on top, the designs created on my lids would be hardly visible. Almost as if the lashes were covering it up and detracting the attention away from the designs. This may just be because of how my eyes are shaped (or my inability to glue on the falsies), but I prefer to have my natural lashes thickened with mascara instead. It was just right and created a subtle flutter- not too overwhelming.

This stacked liner look has become one of my favourites. Usually when wearing makeup I do one simple sweep of eyeshadow over the lids, but there are endless combinations and possibilities that can be achieved. There are no rules with it too! It’s fun and exciting! I encourage you to try new and fresh combinations in your makeup, and you may just be as pleasantly surprised as I was!
Thank you for reading!Xx
